Warning: Charging has been stopped too many times

If you see a message in the Zaptec app saying "Charging has been stopped too many times", it means the charging station has stopped your car from charging because it has been restated too many times during the session.

Why does this happen?

The charging station has a safety feature to protect it. If the car restarts charging too many times, it can damage the charger. This feature makes sure your charger stays safe and lasts longer.

What triggers this warning?

For Zaptec Go with newer firmware (version 2.3 or higher):

  • The charging station will stop if your car restarts charging more than 20 times, plus the number of hours that have passed since you started charging.
    • For example: If you started charging 3 hours ago, you can restart charging up to 23 times before the warning shows.
  • The charger will also stop if your car restarts charging 20 times or more in just one hour.

For Zaptec Go with older firmware (version below 2.3):

  • The charging station will stop if your car restarts charging 20 times or more during the entire session.

What can you do?

  1. Check your car’s charging settings. Sometimes, cars are set to restart charging automatically, which can trigger this warning.
  2. Try restarting the charger and car. This can help fix the issue.
  3. Need help? If the problem keeps happening, contact your Zaptec dealer or service partner for support.
