P1 port already in use?

Use a Y-splitter or P1 switch with an external power supply if the P1 port is already in use. Allowing you to connect multiple devices to the same port on the AMS.

AMS smart meters

Various manufacturers provide AMS power meters, such as Kamstrup, Kaifa/Nuri, and Aidon. This choice of meter can differ based on location and grid company.

Different smart meters have certain specifications and requirements. If you set up Zaptec Sense and don't get the correct readings it may be due to the e-meter type. Ensure compatibility by referring to manufacturer documentation for accurate installation guidance.

Please note that for Sense P1 the supported smart meters relies on what protocol the grid owner has running on the AMS. This means that if you have two smart meters of the same brand and model, only one of them may work with the P1 if the other one does not have the correct protocol.
