You might need to remove a charger if it was added to the wrong installation, move it to another location, or replace a defective unit.
This guide shows you how to do all three.
Removing a charger from an installation
- Log in to the Zaptec Portal (same account as for the Zaptec app).
- Go to Chargers tab and search for the charging station.
- Under Settings, click Deactivate (bottom-right corner) and click OK.

Clear the serial number field and click Save.
- If you plan to move the charging station to a different installation in the Zaptec Portal, write down the serial number for future use.
- The charger is now removed from the installation.
Replacing a faulty charger with a new one
If you're an installer replacing a defective charger with a new one:
- Follow the steps above to deactivate and remove the old charger.
- In the same field, enter the new charger’s serial number.
- Click Save, then click Activate.
All previous settings, access, and charging history will be transferred to the new charger.
Moving a charger to a different installation
If you're relocating a charger to a new installation:
- First, deactivate and remove the charging station from its current installation as described above.
- Find or create the installation where the charging station will be moved.
- Make sure it's added to the correct circuit.
- Under Circuits, click the + icon to add a new charge point.
- Enter the saved serial number and a name, then click Add.
