Would you like to control when and how your EV charges? By planning your sessions, you can save on electricity costs, avoid high rates, and ensure your car is ready when you need it.
This feature can also be useful for larger locations, such as shopping centers, housing cooperatives, and businesses, where you want to set fixed opening hours for when charging should be available.
Only installation owners or service partners can enable scheduled charging.
How to schedule charging with the Zaptec app
- Log into the Zaptec app and find the charging station on the Dashboard.
- Tap on Charging Mode⚡ > Scheduled Charging > Save.
- Tap Configure under Scheduled Charging to add a charging time slot.
Scheduled charging applies to all chargers within the same installation.
- If you have multiple charging stations in a private or shared installation, they will all follow the same schedule.
- Only the installation owner can manage the schedules to ensure a fair power distribution.
Adding a schedule
- Tap + Add a time slot.
- Select start and end times.
- Tap Add to save.
- (Optional) Tap Adjust current if you want to change the charging power during the time slot.
- (Optional) Repeat for Weekends if you want a different schedule. By default, the schedule for weekdays and weekends is the same.
- When you're done, go back and tap X to exit.
The maximum charging current depends on the circuit breaker in your installation. If it is 20A, you cannot charge with more than that.
How does the charging schedule work?
- When the car is connected: The charger will light up green while waiting for the start time.
- When the car is not connected: The Charging Mode button will display Scheduled until the car is plugged in.
- During the active schedule: The charger will deliver full power unless specified otherwise.
- Outside the schedule: The charger will be inactive (0A) and will not provide power.
Example: If you set 10A from 01:00 to 09:00, the car will only charge at 10A during this time, and the charger will not provide power outside this window.
Using Eco Mode? The schedule will limit Eco Mode to the hours you're allocated for charging.
How to change or delete a schedule
- From the Dashboard, tap on Charging Mode⚡.
- Tap on Configure under Scheduled Charging.
- Select a time slot and edit or delete it.
