Country-specific requirements
United Kingdom
The IET Code of Practice (4th Edition, section 4.4):
- Socket outlet and controls: 750mm and 1200m above ground.
- Display screens: 1200mm and 1400mm, and viewable from standing or sitting.
The draft PAS 1899:2022 (section 5.2):
- Charger socket: 750mm and 1000mm above ground level.
- Interactive elements and controls: 800mm and 1000mm.
- Top of any screen interface: 1100mm and 1300mm.
If a Zaptec charging station is installed with the Type 2 socket at 900mm, then the above requirements will be met.
France
The Arrêté du 1 août 2006 fixant les dispositions prises pour l'application des articles R. 111-19 à R.111-19-3 et R.111-19-6 about the accessibility of the people with disabilities to buildings and installations open to public specifies the following:
- At least one equipment or piece of furniture per group of equipment should be accessible by a person when standing or seated.
- To be considered as accessible in seated position the equipment needs to present the bellow characteristic:
- If the equipment requires manual interaction or using the equipment requires seeing, reading, hearing or speaking, the height should be between 0.90 m to 1.30 m.
If a Zaptec charging station is installed with the Type 2 socket at 900mm, then the above requirements will be met.
