It is important that chargers are installed at a height that is suitable for all users. Legislation and guidance governing this may vary from country to country.
In the absence of any specific legislation or guidance, Zaptec recommends that chargers are installed with the Type 2 socket at 900mm above ground level
United Kingdom
The IET Code of Practice Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment Installation 4th Edition section 4.4 recommends that the socket outlet and controls are between 750mm and 1200m above ground and display screens are between 1200mm and 1400mm and viewable from a standing or sitting position.
The draft PAS 1899:2022 Electric vehicles - Accessible charging - Specification section 5.2 recommends that the charger socket is between 750mm and 1000mm above ground level. Interactive elements and controls should be between 800mm and 1000mm and the top of any screen interface should be between 1100mm and 1300mm.
If a Zaptec Go or Pro charger is installed with the Type 2 socket at 900mm, then the above requirements will be met.

At least one equipment or piece of furniture per group of equipment should be accessible by a person when standing or seated.
To be considered as accessible in seated position the equipment needs to present the bellow characteristic:
- If the equipment requires manual interaction, or
- Using the equipment requires seeing, reading, hearing or speaking
Height should be between 0.90 m to 1.30 m :
