The UK Smart Charging features are available in the United Kingdom for:
- Zaptec Go (firmware 1.1.0.5 or higher)
- Zaptec Pro (firmware 4.5.0.6 or higher)
- Zaptec App (version 5.4.5 or higher)
How to set up a charging schedule
Before you start, make sure you have the PIN code and that your charging station is registered in the Zaptec App. Your charging station should already be installed and configured by your installer.
If you have previously turned on Scheduled Power Control in the Zaptec Portal, we would recommend that you switch it back to Manual Power Control to avoid issues. Check that the available current is set correctly. If it's set to 0A, charging will not work.
- In the Zaptec App, go to Dashboard and tap the settings icon above your charging station. Or, tap Installations > select your charging station under Chargers.
- Tap Advanced settings and enter your PIN code to connect via Bluetooth.
(You need to be close to the charging station). - Scroll down to Schedule.
- To turn off scheduling, toggle Set up schedule off.
- To change the schedule, tap Schedule.
- Set your preferred start and stop times for charging, or choose the default UK Smart Charging schedule.
- Tap Save, then tap Save again.
Your charging station will now only charge during the times you set. If charging happens outside these times, the session will pause, shown by a solid green light.
If you set the schedule while your car is plugged in, unplug and replug the charging cable for changes to take effect. Otherwise, the schedule applies to your next charging session.
What is the default UK Smart Charging schedule?
The default UK Smart Charging schedule prevents charging:
- Between 08:00-11:00 and 16:00-22:00 on weekdays.
Can I override the schedule?
Yes. If your charger is online and not in stand-alone mode, you can temporarily override the schedule.
If charging is paused by the schedule, you'll see a green light on the charging station when your car is plugged in and ready to charge.
- In the Zaptec App, go to Dashboard and select your charger (it will say Charging paused).
- Tap Resume charging to start charging.
- To stop charging, tap Pause charging at any time.
